Feasibility work
During 2008 and 2009, working in conjunction with the NEWHeat arm of Rural Development Initiatives, we have carried out a number of feasibility studies across a range of businesses in the North East region, from Teesside to the Scottish Borders.
The aim has been to investigate and evaluate, in simple terms, the viability of conversion from fossil fuel to wood burning systems in order to assist clients in their decision-making process.
The experience gained in this area allows a rapid appraisal of the logistics involved in the provision of a wood fuelled system, the constraints for fuel availability, storage and delivery, and the sizing and outline costing of the correct type of system for each location.
The payback period in fuel savings, supported by grant funding information and a carbon saving breakdown, can give a clear overview of the potential financial and environmental advantages of a conversion to wood fuel. We are always happy to provide advice on other renewables should a wood fuel option not prove practical.
We have experience in domestic, commercial and agricultural sectors – and are happy to arrange a free first meeting to discuss your needs.
Grant funding may be available to help cover the costs of our consultancy work – in some instances this can cover up to 100% of our fees. Contact us to discuss how we can assist you with your project.
