Our consultancy services are aimed at individuals, communities and companies who want to implement new heating technologies, but are perhaps a little unsure about what would work best for their specific circumstances.

We can provide a consultant to work alongside you to identify what heat source is most appropriate for your needs, what distribution system will best suit the heat source and physical characteristics of your property, and ensure that the two will work together to provide the optimum heating system.

Our experience in this field encompasses a wide range of technologies and we are able to offer a wide range of services from an initial appraisal to a turnkey package – precisely tailored to your needs.

Large installations serving multiple properties will usually require the establishment of an energy supply company (ESCo) to manage the boiler and distribution pipework, and invoice individual users at a pre-agreed rate for the energy they use (see also smart metering). We have direct experience of running an ESCo ourselves and so are uniquely placed to provide advice on how best to set up such a company, and put in place the necessary agreements and metering arrangements to facilitate accurate billing systems.

Many developers involved with sites in ‘eco’ and ‘transition’ towns may also be expected to design schemes using renewables to provide a grid system of locally produced power and heat. We are happy to provide guidance and advice on large scale centralised biomass boiler plants and CHP systems to enable the integration of renewables into such schemes.

Grant funding may be available to help cover the costs of our consultancy work – in some instances this can cover up to 100% of our fees.
