Pellet boilers

Wood pellet boilers offer the optimum in automation. Wood pellets can be delivered to site using a blower vehicle – so can be delivered just like oil. They are then fed into the boiler using an automated feed system (for all but the smallest boilers, where pellets are supplied in bags and emptied directly into a hopper in the boiler). Because pellets consist of wood that contains less than 10% moisture and is highly compressed, they have an extremely high energy density and have better energy efficiency levels than any other biomass fuel.

A wood pellet boiler system is fully automated: not only does the system light itself automatically and feed fuel from the pellet store to suit the heating demand, but most wood pellet boilers also automatically clean themselves every day ensuring continued efficiency year after year.

This means that a wood pellet boiler really is just as easy to operate as a conventional oil boiler and will provide the similar high levels of sophistication and automation. You just have to remember to top up your pellet supply as and when required, and remove the small amount of ash produced by these highly efficient boilers from time to time.
